WP-Translate 3 Beta
Anyone want to test a beta of the next version of WordPress Translate? I know it works on my blog, but I don’t know if it’ll work on yours. I’ve gotten complaints on the other versions being broken on others blogs. Go ahead, download and test it for me before I make it an official release.
Download: Version 3b

Actually to update my problem, the WP Translate 2 only work on the home page. Even if translate the homepage to foreign language and you click on any links you still get the homepage. Do I have to change any path to make it work? Thanks

That’s actually one of the problems I was trying to fix with the beta of version 3.

You are the only one that has tested it. I’m going to add a link to the blog posting on the plugin page.

Thanks for the plugin. I needed one which included Dutch, and yours was the only one I found that has it, apparently because it uses AltaVista.
I installed ver 2 on WP2.0.2 and it worked fine. I wanted to kill all those xhtml errors though, so I upgraded to your beta.
It didn’t work at first. I had to replace the “.bloginfo” sections with direct links, although I don’t know why. The links work ok now.
Now my problem is that the translation hangs at the “translating” phase sometimes. I’m baffled as to what is causing this. Maybe my cache.

By the way Scott, one feature that I miss from the other translators I’ve tried is a “stars and stripes” (or “union jack”) flag to go back to English.

Well I noticed I made a mistake. I had a php function without the < ? ?> brackets around it. Thats why the paths were off. As for a return flag, I’m not sure I know how to do that. I’ll try to work it into the next version if I can figure out how to do it that will work.

Hi Scott, what is the status of the beta? Will you be releasing soon the final version? I haven’t seen any activity

I haven’t heard from people testing the beta. I’m not sure if I should release it yet.

Hey Scott. Check my site above. I only tried 2 languages to test it out, and it works fine. I too, would like a US/UK flag with a link back to the main site, and possibly, to make it easier for non-native English speakers to find their language, have their language name translated, like next to the flag, put: :FLAG: :Japanese characters:

[...] A translation section, since, after all, this is the World Wide Web, and not everyone in the world speaks English. [...]

Ugh…I install 2.0 and the words display, but not the flags. I install 3b and it looks great, but doesn’t translate.

haven’t clicked through on all the translations, but ths beta seems to work well and perfect at my http://demontheory.net. only mod I did was cosmetic: went in and made all the borders “0″. or, if all the translations aren’t working, let me know, I guess (right pane, way at the bottom).
thanks.

Good Timing. I’m about to release a new beta in the next few days. So far I’ve included the features users have asked for.

Works really well. I have it at running on this site. However, I do realise sometimes the flag icons do not appear on languages other than English.

Can’t get it to work… flags are not showing up, just text. When I click on a language it doesn’t translate. Hmm… Will try more later…

I have upgraded WP to 2.2.2. I installed WP-Translate 3b but when I tried to activate it in my Plugin Management, it prompts an error message that says, “Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.”. Btw, under the column “version”, it says, “2 (September 6, 2005)” even though I installed 3b. I would like to hear from others if they have successfully using the plugin under WP 2.2.2. Appreciate any help. Thanks!

I have test with my WP2.01 and is not working. All I can see is the name of the country and broken flag links but when I click on a language is not translating.
